School Work Blues.

I seriously can't get enough of these boots.
Though, I need to be careful. Arkansas is starting to be fickle weather-wise again.
I guess I should buy some weather-proofing shoe spray? Does that even exist?
I tend to make things up.

Alone and bored. Procrastinating, per usual.
There is so much that needs to be done that I get overwhelmed and well, I don't accomplish much.

->Red abstract print skirt, thrifted
->Cream tank, H&M in Spain
->Dark Denim Jacket, Charlotte Russe Clearance Rack

This photo sums up how I feel inside. One can't always keep their composure!
I've spent the majority of this weekend trying to get as much reading, papers, etc. done for following two weeks.
This is mainly because I don't want to do any schoolwork the weekend of Halloween.
Oh school, why must you torture me so?
Let's hope my plan pans out accordingly.

Until next time, ♥.

Pet Rocks.

When I mentioned shopping for a pet rock, I was referring to the cabochon that I need for the big project in my jewelry-making class. I had to skip out on the lapidarist visit last Monday because of school work, but fortunately there was a big Gem Rock show at a community center here in Central Arkansas on Saturday.

 So many pretty rocks! I had a hard time choosing just one. It also didn't help that I wanted to be in and out so that I could return and do some homework before my outing at the symphony that night.

 I also picked up 3 grab-bags of assorted misshapen rocks. Not sure what to do with them yet. Typical.

 Meet my pet rocks; Dichroic glass, Rainbow Calsilica, and Peruvian Opal.
I finally decided on these three lovelies from Designer Cabochons. The lady wrote the names of each one on their respective baggies. That way, I can totally geek out and name the stone that I will eventually be "rockin'."
 See what I did there?

So, which one should I use for my big project piece?

Until next time, ♥.

Estate Sale Spoils.

 As promised, here are my spoils from last Friday's estate sale outing with Starr. While there was plenty of vintage for really cheap, I found myself gravitating towards the accessories. Could it be because I've already amassed a sizable wardrobe again? Perhaps, it's because my etsy shop focus is accessories? I haven't quite decided yet...

 There were plenty of random jewelry "grab bags." I was tempted to buy them all, but I decided on one that had a few interesting pieces. The cameo is on a velvet choker, which will probably get reworked at some point. I really love the collegiate-style pendant! Perfect to add a quick touch of class to an outfit.

 I kept debating this purchase. I carried it with me the entire time. It's dry-rotted and tears so easily, but at 6 bucks for so much of it, I figured it was worth it. I think it may have been a dress at some point. I plan on reinforcing it with fabric stiffener and adhering it to felt for appliques in future projects. I guess I was also tempted to buy it because I had so many people commenting on it...

 I bought these two small wallets because they were interesting and a mere dollar a piece. I carry a small cross-body bag, so large wallets are a no-no. The flat leather wallet has these awesome swirl designs that remind me of crop circles. I especially love the navy and gold-embossed wallet.

Now that I think about it, I bought a bunch of lil' knick-knacks with the notion that I will craft soon. Well, mostly with the thought of refashioning things into quirky, yet simple pendant necklaces.
The little plastic clothespins remind me of my gold clothespin necklace. The compass is itty-bitty! And, those little Arkansas tags are way adorable. I can't to don one around my neck!

I bought some new scarves and glasses (for their lenses) and some pretty rad black velvety oxford pumps. Unfortunately, the oxfords are way too snug. Oh well, they will probably go into the shop soon. Darn my big feet!

Let's hope these new purchases get my creative juices flowing! I need to craft, seriously.
Until next time, ♥.

Summoning Fall.

Okay, so it's not exactly Fall weather here in Arkansas, but all of the buildings are campus are FREEZING.
It makes absolutely no sense, though it kind of lets me get away with wearing a cardigan to class.

I wore this to my only class today at 9am. I used the rest of the day to photograph new merch for the shop.
This weekend will be spent listing new items...and doing my homework?
Let's see if I can't sneak some crafts into the mix, there's a dress here that I've been meaning to hem up.

Man, I've been looking for the perfect canary-yellow cardigan for ages and found this one at Savers for about 3 dollars; I just despised the original dinky plastic buttons. I replaced them with these cool metal ones that I bought
from Midtowne Antique Mall and it was good as new!

The belt and shoes come from my recent haul from 50% off sale at Savers this past Labor Day. I can already assume that they'll be put into heavy rotation this fall...whenever that will be. I'm so ready. I miss my layers.

The Spoils of El Rastro

If anyone's interested, this is what I managed to dig up at El Rastro yesterday in Madrid.
Finally found myself a leather backpack! It kind of smells though.
I'm not complaining, it's the size and color that I wanted at a price that I could afford (25 euros).
It'll be perfect for when I go to Lollapalooza!

Here's what I found in respect to vintage, not exactly vintage gold, but at a euro a piece...
it's not too shabby!
This tunic pieces looks really weird on, so I'm saving it for a project that I have in mind.
Isn't the print fun?

These were some knick-knacks that I found. They shall be reincarnated into an assortment of jewelry.

These two pins are definitely my favorite. The one on the left is like an itty-bitty mosaic!

I found these embalmed creepy-crawlies at another vendor for .50 euro a pop. These will definitely be made into either earrings or funky pendants. A part of me is slightly disgusted by them, but the other part of me surpasses those emotions and thinks they're awesome!

For Your Viewing Pleasure: Just Woke Up

I took a longer siesta than usual today. I won't tell you exactly how long because it's a little embarrassing. It's probably my body still recovering from yesterday's day trip. Either that, or me doing my best to put off studying for tomorrow's exams! (boo hiss hiss)

->Leopard Print Flats, H&M
->Red Scrap Fabric worn as Headwrap, Random Guy in Plaza Mayor during World Cup
