Subdued Spring Sensations Treasure Trove

As Spring begins to set in with her milder temperatures and sunny skies, I can't help this desire to stay outside.
Unfortunately, classes and the accompanying assignments work against my wishes.
However, I usually find myself caught in reverie...an escape from the confinements of the classroom.
I guess you could say this particular Etsy Treasury reflects my wants and wishes.
So when exactly is Spring Break again? It can't come soon enough!
I fear I might remain in this subdued springtime daze.

A Cure for the Dreadful Shniffles Treasure Trove

I woke up Sunday not feeling so hot, I even had to cancel a brunch date with a friend.
I immediately began to fight back with the usual OTC meds, but I'm still a bit shniffly today.
I decided an Etsy Treasury reflecting this theme was in order!
By the comments already being made on this treasury,
it's apparent that I'm not the only one suffering from the dreadful wintertime sniffles.
I hate being snot-nosed and just yucky in general. Sigh.
However, I do like this collection of remedies that are sourced straight from Etsy!

Let's hope everyone begins to feel better!

Night Owls of Etsy: Shades o' Lurve

I usually make my Etsy listings late at night, after everything else is said and done.
One night, I was approached to join the Night Owls of Etsy team.
I thought it was fascinating and joined immediately!
In order to participate a little, I threw together this Valentine's Day themed treasury
featuring items from my fellow Night Owls.

MADNESS TAKES ITS TOLL!

(Don't fret, I haven't gone mad.)
Part of my Christmas Eve was spent re-watching The Rocky Horror Picture Show.
I couldn't help but imagine that the whole Time Warp scenario would make such an ideal New Year's Eve party.
All the sequins, dancing, glitter, camaraderie, fun, nonsense........

Shades of Sunshine Treasure Trove

Created when the gloomy forecast had me wishing I had just stayed in bed.
The sun is better about shining nowadays, just don't expect any warmth.
Such a devious creature!

Inspired By Marbles Treasure Trove

I must profess my love for all things created by the hands of Katie from Skunkboy Creatures!
So, it made sense to create an entire treasury inspired by Marbles the Penguin.

The Science of Sleep Treasure Trove

I haven't made a treasury in quite some time. Like, a really long time.
I forgot just how fun of a time-suck they are to make. I'll make it a weekly occurrence.
All I want to do is sleep. Can you tell I'm sleep deprived?
A somewhat literal interpretation of the film with the same title.

The Butcher's Daughter Treasure Trove

Just a quickie installment of the treasure trove!
Obviously I still have my Lady Gaga Meat costume on the brain.
I guess having it hanging up on my wall doesn't help matters much.
I just can't help it. It's so much fun!
This would work as an unusual Halloween costume, squirts of blood added separately.

Aviatrix Treasure Trove.

Here is another installment of the Treasure Trove. I actually made this one a while back, but hey, it still works for some good ol' Halloween inspiration! Not only was Amelia Earhart a freaking badass, she had an impeccable sense of style that translates nicely into modernity. You could easily get away with wearing a similar outfit to class and not get eyeballed strangely...well, maybe if you had on those jodhpurs.

Hundred Acre Wood Treasure Trove

Here I am again, making another treasury! This one features my favorite bear and his piggy side-kick. I kind of have a thing for Winnie the Pooh, I still have my very first teddy with his likeness. He's well-loved now.

Anyways, I would imagine this to be lovely for two best friends, committed to not giving into the sexy (insert anything here) costume. Plus, the individual pieces can be used as regular attire afterwards!

Twirl Around Piglet, Step Lightly Pooh, This Silly Ol' Dance Is Perfect For Two

Oh! And I just about have my thrifted halloween costume complete!
I'd reveal my idea, but I would hate to show up somewhere...well, you know.
(My Rosie the Riveter costume last year had duplicates at the party I went to, seriously...what are the odds?!)

Until next time, ♥.

Treasure Trove.

I just discovered the timesuck that is creating Treasuries on Etsy. It's so much fun. I've been toying around with different themes for costumes, costumes that aren't so literal. Here's one that I made recently based on Pee Wee Herman. And that reminds me, I need to figure out my own costume before it's too late!
