A Sunny Disposition: A Mix

I find myself in brighter spirits as the summer sun starts to take residence.
I was getting fed up with all of the recent tornadoes and yucky days.
This is simply a mix to accompany the rays of sunshine that warm the soul.
The next couple of days will be dedicated to tying up my end of semester loose ends.
Why can't papers write themselves? I want to be out in the sun!
Oh well, at least I feel motivated to work with the sun shining bright.
Here's to a happy and sunny productive (Easter) weekend.
ENJOY!

Until next time, ♥.

Verticals & Horizontals

Oxfords, Goodwill $4. Such a steal!
Love love love these shoes.
I scored them about 2 or 3 summers ago, when oxfords were still pretty obscure footwear.
So obscure, they sat in my closet for a long time because I was baffled with how to style them.
Anyways, I've since found replacements for them, only out of fear of wearing them to shreds.
I must have been blessed by the gods of thrift that day because I found a hoard of shoes for myself.
Someone with an awesome shoe collection (in my size) must have donated to Goodwill.
Ah, that rarely happens...which only makes it that much more amazing when it does!

Coral Cardigan and Ruffle Shirt, Savers//Oxfords, Goodwill//Pin&Brooch, Gift
Hemmed Striped Skirt, Starr's Moving Sale
I only look moody because I just woke up. Promise.
Besides, this is about the outfit right?
Plus, I don't want to accidentally make a duckface.

The semester's quickly winding down. Too quickly.
I'm having to juggle pending deadlines in academia with adult matters, like utilities.
It's stressful, but come summertime...I know it will all be worth it!
Let's just hope I make it.

Until next time, ♥.

Dressed for (Renter's) Success

Bambi pin, Carrie's Flea Market// Feather Dangle Earrings, DIY
I wore this to look at potential houses a week or so ago.
I'm incredibly determined to get my own place before semester's end.
Fortunately, we've already secured a place and will begin moving in next month!
Such a relief. Now I get to do grown up things like pay utilities.
Though, I must admit...I'm looking more forward to decorating!

Jeggings, TJ Maxx//Loafers, Chica Vintage on Etsy// Peasant Blouse, Goodwill//
Lil'Boys Navy Blazer, My Favorite Thrift Store//Headscarf, Midtowne Antique Mall
I finally had the chance to debut this jacket! I've been scouring the thrift haunts for the perfect boy blazer, always finding ones that are too big in the shoulders. The warmer weather allowed me to get away with just wearing this jacket. Let's hope the trend continues!

Until next time, ♥.

Supposedly, it's already Spring.

Nail Biter.

Floral dress & Cardi, Goodwill//Socks, Burlington Coat Factory//Shoes, ChicasVintage//
Headscarf, Estate Sale//Necklace, Morikaty
Notice the lack of tights?
Spring is just about here and the weather is acting in accordance!
I almost went bare-legged, but decided to compromise with knee highs instead.
You can never trust Arkansas weather and I also didn't feel like blinding anyone with my paleness.
I love love love my kilty-oxford-loafer hybrids! They add just the right amount of school girl lass to any outfit.
I mean, who doesn't like dressing like a school girl?

I bought this necklace a while back with funds made from my very first Etsy sale.
It's a baby sewing machine and button. Unlike my clothespin necklace, the sewing machine is not functional.
Oh, but that'd be so precious! And convenient too!

Until next time, ♥.

Etsy Shop Update: Eight, Just One Size Too Small.

Late into listing last night, I realized that all of these are a size 8.
I tend to wear a size 9.
These are all exactly one size too small.
A funny, yet kind of sad coincidence. Oh well, I'd rather have monies!

Check them out along with everything else that I have stocked in the olde Etsy shop.
Have a great weekend, everyone!

Until next time, ♥.

Grungy Stripes and Roper Boots

Mauve Jumper, H&M in Spain//Striped Blouse, Goodwill//Boots, Ebay//Belt, Wolfe Street
Clothespin necklace, Hidden Treasures//Leopard Print Scarf, Savers
The weather around here has become depressingly wet and gloomy.
Not exactly the best combination for thoughtful wardrobe choices!
Anyways, I wore this last Friday to a Big Boi and Yelawolf concert.
The boots meant I was more than prepared to kick anyone that tried to get past me.
(I mean...I didn't want to get my poor feet stepped on.)
Fortunately, The Boy kept me safe.

I loooooove this clothespin necklace.
It actually works!
You can usually spot me absent-mindedly clamping it onto my bottom lip...but not for very long.
It really starts to hurt! Then I wake up.

I also wore this to Starr's sister's moving sale. I picked up some great goodies for only 10 bucks!!!
Ah, I love a good bargain.
Be prepared for my transition from the daily beanie into the daily headscarf.
What can I say? My head feels naked if I don't have something adorning it!

Until next time, ♥.

Kilty Fringe Oxfords

Pleated Skirt & Altered Blouse, Goodwill//Belt, Wolfe Street//Scarf worn in Hair, Estate Sale//
Necklace, Savers//Kilty Oxfords, Etsy//Feather Earrings, DIY
There are some days that I just wake up feeling "girly"-pretty.
If you knew me growing up, I was very much a tomboy so this is an odd concept.
Dresses and skirts were simply unheard of! Then again, I wasn't a fan of being told what to wear.

I topped everything off with a hair scarf.
It always looks best when I haphazardly throw it on as I'm rushing to class.
If it were red, I'd totally be channeling Van Eyck's painting.
Okay, maybe not to that extent, but you get the picture.

This silk blouse is so soft and the print is lovely.
I thrifted it a while back, but I hated the weird bell sleeves, so naturally I hacked them off.
Needless to say, I like it much better now.

I realize this photo is quite blurry, but I am still toying around with a new lens.
However, my photog skills do not matter...check out those shoes!
I bought them recently from ChicasVintage on Etsy.
Finally, a replacement for the day my other oxfords bite the dust.
Though, these may be put into heavier rotation...notice there aren't any laces!

Man, I'm so ready for Spring to take over. I need more sunshine in my life.
Until next time, ♥.

Subdued Spring Sensations Treasure Trove

As Spring begins to set in with her milder temperatures and sunny skies, I can't help this desire to stay outside.
Unfortunately, classes and the accompanying assignments work against my wishes.
However, I usually find myself caught in reverie...an escape from the confinements of the classroom.
I guess you could say this particular Etsy Treasury reflects my wants and wishes.
So when exactly is Spring Break again? It can't come soon enough!
I fear I might remain in this subdued springtime daze.
Shop the actual Etsy Treasury online here: Subdued Spring Sensations

Leopard Denim.

Skirt, Goodwill//Tent Blouse, Wolfe Street//Earrings, Samson's Bean//Boots, Ebay
Sorry about the excess junk, I was too lazy to move my roommates' stuff elsewhere.
I've been feeling really eclectic this week. I blame the really awesome weather we've been having.
Let's hope it stays this way. Funny to think that just last week, it snowed heaps!
Anyways, I'm ready to bust out more skirts and dresses--my legs need a breather.

Check out my new boots! I just got them in yesterday from Ebay.
The listing was kind of sketchy, providing only one dim photo...but I decided to take a chance.
They didn't cost me too much, so I'm glad I took the risk.
Aren't they lovely?

And, I've also been fascinated with long, dangling earrings.
I got these from Mango's merchandise from Samson's Bean, our booth at Mid-Towne Antique Mall.
At a mere $1.50, I just couldn't resist!
Also, for everyone around Central Arkansas, we're having a clearance sale. Everything is 20% off except for the vinyls and items marked "FIRM." Be sure to check it out if you have the chance!
We're ready to start loading in plenty of yummy springtime lovelies!

For those not in the vicinity, I'll be putting in some new merchandise in my Etsy shop tonight!
Until next time, ♥.
