The Spoils of El Rastro

If anyone's interested, this is what I managed to dig up at El Rastro yesterday in Madrid.
Finally found myself a leather backpack! It kind of smells though.
I'm not complaining, it's the size and color that I wanted at a price that I could afford (25 euros).
It'll be perfect for when I go to Lollapalooza!

Here's what I found in respect to vintage, not exactly vintage gold, but at a euro a piece...
it's not too shabby!
This tunic pieces looks really weird on, so I'm saving it for a project that I have in mind.
Isn't the print fun?

These were some knick-knacks that I found. They shall be reincarnated into an assortment of jewelry.

These two pins are definitely my favorite. The one on the left is like an itty-bitty mosaic!

I found these embalmed creepy-crawlies at another vendor for .50 euro a pop. These will definitely be made into either earrings or funky pendants. A part of me is slightly disgusted by them, but the other part of me surpasses those emotions and thinks they're awesome!

For Your Viewing Pleasure: Just Woke Up

I took a longer siesta than usual today. I won't tell you exactly how long because it's a little embarrassing. It's probably my body still recovering from yesterday's day trip. Either that, or me doing my best to put off studying for tomorrow's exams! (boo hiss hiss)

->Dark Wash Denim Skirt Dress, Thrifted/Hemmed
->Leopard Print Flats, H&M
->Red Scrap Fabric worn as Headwrap, Random Guy in Plaza Mayor during World Cup
->Ethnic Belt, Thrifted
->Artisan Leather Backpack, El Rastro de Madrid

Now I really ought to study! Until next time, ♥.

Operation: Junky Mess Annihilation

So, as you can imagine, with all of my daily activities (school, siesta, hanging out, partying), my room has gone by the wayside. I'm the kind of person that can put up with a bit of junkiness, but not for very long. Today I decided to clean up shop and man, it feels good! I took some before and after pictures.
I have no shame.

For Your Viewing Pleasure: Lazy Sunday
It's been a whole week since Spain won the World Cup!!!
I decided to re-use a scrap piece of red fabric that I received that day in my hair and wrist.
It's a bit of a commemoration!
My host-dad says my hair looks straight out of the 30s, 40s. How exciting!
By far, my favorite pose to do here in Spain.
Go toro, go! OLE!
->Red Hairscarf, Scrapped from World Cup game day
->Gray Boxy Shirt, Mango
->Black Pleated Shorts, H&M
->Striped Oxford Button-Up, Indefinitely Borrowed from Little Sister
->Leopard Pointy Flats, H&M

It's unfortunate that the weather was so stinking hot today. I barely made it to the Plaza where I was meeting up with friends. Upon arrival, I immediately "undressed" in public. Actually, I just slipped off the oxford from underneath my shirt. Not an easy feat, but I managed and my body thanked me for it. Now I look like someone straight out of Flashdance. Oh well, at least I didn't suffer a heatstroke.
Until next time! ♥

"Yo Soy Español, Español, Español"

Not really, but I couldn't help chanting along with the Spaniards after they won the freakin' World Cup! It's quite surreal, to be here at a time like this. I can't believe this is happening. That I am in Spain. It is 2:24am and I can still hear the cars driving past blaring their horns. I just got back from dancing. I stink o' Spaniard. These people know how to party. Though, the unruly bunch are typically American. For example, I definitely saw a kid's penis during the celebrations at the Plaza Mayor. Yeah. Go America?

No pictures. I purposefully didn't bring my camera because I knew that I'd go out dancing afterwards. I mean, the German Psychic Octopus did predict the win. However, I am sad. Those pictures would've been awesome. Oh well. My friends brought their cameras. They did not have plans of staying out.
WE WON WE WON WE WON!
Thank goodness, a riot would not be fun...or safe...and probably would've soured the rest of my trip.

I hope I wake up for class.
